Description
Special structural steel.
Applications
High and moderately stressed components for auto industry and mechanical engineering – shafts, connecting rods, crankshafts, screws, etc.
Physical properties (average values) at ambient temperature
Modulus of elasticity [103 x N/mm2]: 210 Density [g/cm3]: 7.80
Soft Annealing
Heat to 680-720℃, cool slowly in furnace. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 241.
Normalizing
Temperature: 840-880℃.
Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 820-860℃ followed by oil or water quenching.
Tempering
Tempering temperature: 540-680℃.
